Focus, drive and determination

Sitting here blessed to be alive. I love mornings and partaking in a hearty breakfast and a cup of coffee. It gives me a much needed boost of energy.  Each day is a joy for me putting in work for my business. It’s a blessing to be in the position to do what I love.  I am so determined to give it the old college try.  It is sometimes easy to lose focus and get sidetracked.  You cant get into the habit of putting off things til tomorrow.  Stay steadfast even if its just doing a little a day its better than just doing nothing. My mine stays transfixed on building and expanding. I work at if with Faith that its going to happen. You can even post incentives around the house for yourself. Little reminders of why you started your business and encourage yourself to do all you can to see your vision flourish. I carry with me hope, determination, and drive. I have often heard people say, “I am in this thing til the wheels fall off”, well guess what so am I.  We serve a Omniscient , Sovereign God and as long as he exists there is always hope and He is ETERNAL. Be passionate about your business

Be eager, be determined and no matter how tedious it may seem at times keep on pushing.  Have zest, have drive and be devoted to your project. Others we be able to tell if your serious about the progress of your work or not. Never rush, set out blocks of time so you can take your time and not leave any lose ends, finish what you start. I try to do one project at a time. When you tend to bounce around you leave loose ends all over the place. You want to start and finish and move on to the next thing. Just because you work from home doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have order or a daily plan. Just like a 9-5 outside of the home pick a block of time that is strictly dedicated daily to your project from start to finish. Let your answering service take messages and put that phone down, as a matter of fact turn off all distractions so you can stay focused. I like to listen to music sometimes when I am working on something but even sometimes if I find it distracting I am not hesitant to cut it off.

Organization is the key to keeping things flowing. A place for everything and everything in its place so you don’t waste work time hunting for things. Lay it all out in your work space like an assembly line.

When you take pride in your work, you protect it. Keep finished projects covered, accidents happen. All it takes is a knocked over cup of coffee to spell disaster. One good thing about running your business from home is that you can work at  your own  pace and set your on hours of operation. Take breaks so you wont burn yourself out.  If you’re a stay at home mom you will find a way to balance take care of little ones if you have them, maintaining your daily duties at home and working on your craft. Every now and then take a little time for yourself. There is nothing wrong with a short break or two during the day to give your brain and body a rest. Just develop a system and try to stick to it. Remember the more persistent and consistent you are in developing your craft the quicker and bigger your inventory grows which can result in profit for your hard labor. Remember one step at a time and one day at a time by Faith.

Believe in Yourself

Here we are more halfway through 2019. In 11 days will be in the seventh month of 2019. Time truly marches on by swiftly. I am grateful for every moment God allows me to still be here. I was thinking this morning while having breakfast about all that has transpired in the past 17 months.  January 15, 2018 I stepped out on faith and  started Walk in Creativity. I started a Facebook  group to kick it off.  I started designing a website for my business on February 6, 2018 so I could start listing my designs. The Grand Opening for my Website followed 17 days later.

If you have a vision and want to start your own business, do it. All it takes is prayer and a leap of faith.  You can do anything you put your mind to. Don’t worry about who else might be in the same line of business as you are and may have achieved success quicker. We all might not arrive at the same point at the same time but we each will eventually get there at our own appointed time. Be encouraged and stay hopeful. Don’t just think about it do it. Like I said before, be your own cheerleader, believe in yourself and stick with what your doing. When you look back you will  surprise yourself at all the determination and drive you had and how much you achieved by believing in yourself.

No thing or No one is more powerful than the Almighty God.

Electricity generates great power, the wind and seas are powerful, there are even some people on earth that have significant power in some degree but I tell you there is No one or anything more powerful than the Lord Jesus Christ, all power is in his hands, and all is in subjection to him!!! There is power in his name, there is power in his blood, there is power in his command, his words are powerful, for he spoke and things came into existence. Nothing or no one can supply us with all we need, so if there is one thing of great need that you wanted to put a request into God for I encourage you to ask for more of HIM. He is the ultimate supplier and his supply never runs out. The bible says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and if it wasn’t for the cleansing power of the blood of Christ we would all die in our sins. For there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Thank you God for your willingness to endure the weight of the world’s sin on your shoulders at Calvary. Sin has to be paid for and Jesus was the propitiation for our sins. So if you are looking for something to thank God for today think on this. Because He lives we can face tomorrow, because he lives, all fear is gone, because I know he holds the future, life is worth the living just because JESUS lives.

Mother’s Day Open House/ Luncheon 2019

As I sat here this morning looking around the first floor of my home I realized what a blessing my life is and how it is so good to give back in light of all that you receive. Yesterday my business Walk in Creativity had its second annual Mother’s Day Open House/Luncheon and a blessing it was. I look forward to treating the Mother’s special each year to a sit down lunch. I decorated the tables so beautiful in hopes of bringing a smile to their faces. I designed the atmosphere to be a comfortable and warm space for them to enjoy a time of fellowship, good food and fun. Moms do a lot and are depended upon more than most envision. They deserve a day of recognition and even though worldwide she is annually celebrated I just wanted to add a little extra icing on the cake by honoring them in my own special way which is why I have this Event every year. I pray each year it gets bigger and better but I know God will draw all who are intended to be there and expand the Event as he sees fit. I am just honored to be the hostess who does a part in serving them on a special chosen day each year. I am grateful for all the ladies who attended the event. I look forward to, Lord willing, our 3rd Annual Event in honor of Mothers in 2020.

God has given me so much how could I not be inclined to want to give back in some sort of way to others. It’s not always about you being served you have to learn to want to support and serve others in anyway you can. Support is more than just saying, good for you and I wish you the best, yes those are beautiful sentiments don’t get me wrong but its a little more than that. We have to put our support in action if its just sharing someone else’s accomplishments with others, being a spokesperson for them and or rallying around them in love and in person at their event(s). A long time girlfriend of mine that was in attendance said something yesterday that touched my heart, she said “I had to show up it was a special day for you”. That statement that touched me deep inside because it was true. It also touched me that she saw fit to be there and support me in spite of having perhaps other things might have to desired to do on a beautiful Saturday afternoon but she choose to spend it with me as did all the other ladies. She knew that it was more than just a selling event and that she would get something back in return. We all had a wonderful time together.

I was the designer, the decorator, the caterer, the host and the server and I loved it. I thank God for the energy to do it all. I did not want them to come to my event and think that their sacrifice and efforts coming to my Event would be in vain or one sided. I appreciate them as much as they appreciate me and that is true friendship. It’s a two way support system. It is nothing you feel burdened or forced to do, its done because you want to for sister/friend in support and love. I am just grateful for the years of friendship and love I have received from these women, some are new and we are building a friendship in love and I feel the same about them. I have always been involved in the empowerment and uplifting of other women hence my groups Woman2Woman Lounge and Moms Working for the Kingdom started in 2007. I have not been attending to these two groups like I use to in light of changes in my life and my new businesses Walk in Creativity and Catherine Rose Creations but I want to bring everything in conjunction with one another full circle so you will be seeing and hearing more from me in different areas on social media.

God Bless you all, keep striving for what you believe in, step out on faith to see your dreams come to fruition, never stop believing in yourself no matter how many others might not and keep giving back, you are more special than you think. Pray and let God’s grace take you places according to his will and purposes in your life.
